Beta male
A beta male is an average male, aka someone who is not a leader, not very physically strong, not rich, not super hot, unassertive, and is subordinate to alpha males in terms of mate access. Minus the herd mentality, the term is otherwise a near synonym for low-tier normie, as most low-tier normies are beta males. Beta males exchange loyalty to alphas in return for alphas not hoarding all of the women. Beta males are necessary for alphas to retain power. They are also generally subservient to all women, and THEY LIKE IT THAT WAY.
Lexicology[edit | edit source]
Although technically beta males are not at the bottom of the ethological totem pole (a position held by omega males), the reason why some men use this epithet to describe themselves is for simplicity's sake, as well as the common notion of if you're not first, you're last.
How to identify a beta male[edit | edit source]
Is he
- A follower, not a leader?
- doughy?
- wage-slaving?
- unassertive?
Congrats, you identified a beta male. Now go have sex with him femoid.
Furthermore, does he
- wear fedoras?
- have horrible acne?
- never lose his virginity?
etc
that's not a beta male, but that could be an Omega male
Female counterpart[edit | edit source]
The female counterpart to the beta male is the beta female. Beta females do not go thru life sexless like their beta male counterparts. The usage of beta in relation to character traits are primarily used in ethology. In the animal kingdom, betas of both sexes are subordinate to the alpha. Subordination becomes more guaranteed depending on the animal species, depending on whether its a matriarchal or patriarchal species. For example, a beta male in the spotted hyena pack is in a far more precarious situation than his equivalent among other carnivores in his ecosystem, as he lives in a matriarchal system. Nonetheless, what typically differentiates the males and females who are at the beta rank of their animal hierarchy, is that whereas the male often goes sexless, this isn't the case for females. Since humans are mammals, this dichotomy of male sexlessness relative to females doesn't necessarily disappear merely because human brains are more complex than our counterparts in other mammals. The analogousness of females as sexual selectors on both human and non-human mammals becomes apparent when contemplating on the dating scene in societies which encourage female hypergamy.
- Nutshell: If you wanna see whether the lopsided contrast of access to sex between male and female betas in the animal kingdom is applicable to human societies, gawk at feminist societies and see how beta males fare over there.
