Hamza
Hamza Ahmed was a prominent figure in the 2021-2023 redpill/self-improvement internet subculture, (this rise of such content was likely driven by Andrew Tate's virality). Unlike Tate, Hamza's videos focused more on self improvement tutorials for men, rather than controversial opinions and statements. Among incelosphereans and blackpill advocates, Hamza has a very controversial reputation, being seen by most as a grifter who took advantage of lonely young boys, by giving them false advice and hope.[1]
Childhood and Teen years[edit | edit source]
Little is known about Hamza's childhood, he was born in 1997 to a Pakistani immigrant family in England, his father was very strict, he was allegedly assaulted by his brother,[2] he was bullied in his teen years and was quite overweight, depressed, porn addicted, and was almost certainly an incel (though he never used that label). around the age of 17 he began to self improve and gymmax, by the time he was 18 he had ascended and was able to get occasional hookups, even being able to find a girlfriend. Hamza graduated in pyschology which made it hard for him to find a job, this led him to seek alternative job opportunities like youtube.[3]
Rise in fame[edit | edit source]
On the 8th of September 2019, Hamza posted his first youtube video, the video was titled "5 Year Weightlifting Body Transformation (Natural)"[4], and consited of a slideshow of images and short videos, documenting his gymmaxx journey. Hamza would make a few other videos consisting of gym tutorials, one of them in particular "How To Build An Aesthetic Body (No Bullsh*t Guide)"[5] went viral and paved the way for his future fame. Hamza's channel grew slowly and steadily from there, only reaching 1000 subscribers in 2020, by 2021 he had created a small cult following, his content had diverged and he spoke on various topics outside of gymaxxing, he spoke about mental health, porn addiction, meditation, and general self improvement. In 2021 his channel reached 100k subscribers, the rawness and honesty of his content, coupled with the target of such content (ie: 13-17 year old boys), led to rapid channel growth. Around this period, Hamza had a live debate with wheat waffles,[6] Redpill vs Blackpill. Hamza's channel growth would only accelerate, reaching 200k subscribers months later. By early 2022, Hamza's channel was a giant in the youtube redpill sphere, he changed his content, making the editing more engaging for younger audiences whose attention span was shortened due to short-form content found on tiktok, Around this time, Hamza would have a short beef with the fellow redpill grifter Sneako, after the latter made fun of Hamza's content, calling it "gay"[7]. By the summer of 2022, Hamza's channel had 1 million subscribers, this growth was possibly driven by Andrew Tate's virality around the same time, which drove more engagement towards redpill content.[8]
His content[edit | edit source]
Hamza's youtube content was direct and filled with what he described as "tough love", he strongly critiqued the bluepill, favoring a more redpilled approach on self-improvement. A common formula in his videos was a side by side comparison of 2 fictional male archetypes, one named "Jeffery" and one named "Adonis", Jeffery was what Hamza saw as a "soyboy" and Adonis was shown as Gigachad and what the viewer should try to be more like, Hamza would describe Jeffery's habits and then describe Adonis's habits, Example:"Jeffery constantly masturbates to porn and uses social media for hours every day, meanwhile Adonis never uses his phone and concentrates on his career and studies instead". According to Hamza, there are 5 virtues to Adonis: Discipline, Humility, Presence, Gratitude, and Leadership.[8]
Decline in fame[edit | edit source]
By early 2023, Hamza's channel growth had slowed down as engagement towards redpill content had mostly declined, Hamza's content gradually grew out of fashoin, with many viewers seeing it as too black-and-white and extreme, some of his stances on things such as videogames and anime were quite unpopular, as he saw them as purely negative. many of his casual viewers got tired of his repetitive and un-nuanced rants on self improvement, while his more engaged viewers likely quit after seeing how his self-improvement adivce didn't work for them. Hamza also began to not follow his own advice, often crashing out against viewers who left hate comments on his livestreams, he was acting like the jeffery archetype. Another issue which arose was the price of his courses, Hamza was charging 500+ dollars for his "Adonis tribe" course, a course which consisted of recycled content from his youtube videos. By mid 2024, many youtubers such as Internet Anarchist began making videos exposing Hamza for his grifty behaviour and targeting of young teenage boys. The factors Listed above, combined with the internet's short attention span, led Hamza's fame to fade away, and by 2025 his relevance in manosphere circles had fallen and become a memory.[2][9]
