Blackpill edits (commonly referred to as "BP edits") are a tiktok phenomenon which began in early 2025, these videos consist of edits portraying attractive people as superior, and often garner millions of views.

This blatant chadworship is not seen as cringe by tiktokcels, many of which are unaware of the blackpill's true origins, believing it to be a tiktok trend.

Types of edits

There are various types of BP edits, the following is a list containing the most popular kinds of edits. Note that these are arbitray classifications, many edits do not fit into one specific type.

Depressing type

Depressing BP edits follow a somewhat repetitive formula, there is usually a short video of a truecel (eg Klimo) talking about his inceldom. The next step is usually a rapidfire slideshow of images usually associated with blackpill culture on tiktok (such as an anatomical image of a jaw, or an image of a literal pill that is colored black). The music in these edits is usually emo-esque and images of male models (such as Chico or Jordan Barrett) are sometimes present.

Energetic type

Energetic BP edits have a simple repetive formula, the edit will begin by showing a short video of an ugly person or a person getting rejected, then proceed to show videos of attractive people, sometimes coupled with text saying something to the likes of "Would he have been rejected if he looked like this?". these edits usually have pop/tiktok music in the background.

Ascension type

These edits are made to portray one's "glow up" (ie: Ascension), the edit starts by showing what they used to look like, then the edit shows what they look like now.

Political type

Political BP edits follow the same dialectic present in "Chad vs Virgin" memes, these edits aim to associate one person's political stance with attractive people, and the other with unattractive people.

Example: the edit may start displaying images of unattractive Aboriginal Australians typically with text that reads " "We are the real Australians!" " or something similar, then the edit will proceed to show images of attractive Anglo Australians with text that says "True Australians". The goal of this edit is to validate the creator's personal opinion.

Although leftist political BP edits DO exist, the vast majority are made to push right-wing or alt-right messages, this has associated the BP with far right politics on tiktok.

Joke/Meme type

These edits follow the same formula as energetic BP edits, the key difference is that they show clips of Memes/tiktok celebrities (like Cookie King for example), the goal of these edits is to make fun of serious BP edits.

The creator will sometimes include themselves in the second part of the edit, this practice is known as a "Sneak in".
