Negative reinforcement

Negative reinforcement is the process of removing an undesirable and unpleasant stimulus to increase a desirable behavior.[1]

It's the opposite of positive reinforcement.

Examples[edit | edit source]

  • After getting marginalized by society as a sub5 man, you're less likely to actively incorporate yourself in social functions, indicating indirect opposion of your presence (≙ removing an undesirable stimulus).
  • When a sub5 man cold-approaches a woman, the women indicates with her body language commonly represented as protective, scared and upset to avoid further interaction. Consequently, the sub5 man then stops approaching women further (≙ removing an undesirable stimulus).
  • Getting bullied in school increases your suicide risk between 2 to 9 times.[2]
