Arranged marriage
Arranged marriage is a practice by which men find wives to marry, with the help of familial connections, with parents of both the prospective bride and groom playing a role in vetting the other party and their family, and deciding whether they're suitable. There is substantial evidence that arranged marriage was the norm throughout much of human history.[1]
Cited benefits of arranged marriage are that it helps keep socially awkward, shy and betabuxx-tier men from being incels. Some claim it assures better compatibility and marital success, compared to a love marriage between two young people who lack the wisdom of age, and indeed arranged marriages last longer than normal marriages,[2] which however also could be attributed to the stricter culture preventing or deferring divorce. Contrary to widely held views, arranged couples are just as happy or unhappy as other couples.[3] Arguing based on the high prevalence of arranged marriage in human history, it has been conjectured that humans have to some extent evolved to accept parental mate choices and diminished direct courtship adaptations such as flirting skills, thus, the decline of arranged marriage may explain some of the raise of inceldom.[1]
Some arranged marriages are also forced marriages, in which one or both spouses have no choice about getting married. Women were traditionally treated as property who had no right to refuse marriage their fathers wanted them to be a part of, but men also have been forced into marriage through shotgun weddings to girls they deflowered, as a way of paying the most optimal form of restitution for defiling them.
Perversely, forced marriage is considered a criminal act in many countries even when there is no evidence for any harm (similar to no-fault divorce), and even though the use of e.g. unreasonable domestic violence is already covered by other laws.
Historical Precedence of Forced Monogamy[edit | edit source]
Before the rise of monogamy, after the rise of agriculture, the male-female ratio was at a high of 17-to-1[4]. The practice of monogamy prevented societal instability.
Challenges of Free Monogamy and Voluntary Femceldom[edit | edit source]
Japan and other westernized nations are currently facing demographic decline ("Coffin" shaped population pyramid), and currently they are heavily subsidizing child-rearing, however it does not seem to be effective at reaching replacement rate of 2.1. The feminists at Nikkei[5] named the main issue being lack of Hybrid masculinity, whilst at the same time females are less willing to have births at a younger age. It can be said that egalitarianism does not have adequate reinforcement mechanisms for marriage and reproduction, and that arranged marriages are the only option, as the Japanese Government is putting in money for an AI matchmaking algorithm[6]. If female matchmakers quitting in the US[7] is an indication, the government will have to enforce tougher measures e.g. Incel and Femcel tax.
