Alan Ray Williams (born 1991), known online as BasedShaman, is a YouTuber best known for making commentary videos on the incel community–particularly Elliot Rodger. After YouTube purged most Elliot Rodger commentary content in 2019, his channel has struggled to maintain relevancy and consistent views, resulting in overall stagnation and lack of growth in the coming years. In 2017, he became the first YouTuber to bring large amounts of attention to Marshall Mathers the 4th, an incel vlogger who would become a prominent figure in the community in the coming years. He's also made commentary videos on other notable lolcows including Chris Chan and Cyraxx.
