Blackpill: Difference between revisions

The first large blackpilled communities were hosted on [[Reddit]].  [[R/incels|/r/incels]] (a branch of [[r/truecels]]) being the first major incel community to use the term 'blackpill'. Most of the discussions there focused on [[roastie|slut-shaming]] and [[lookism]], largely ruminating on experiments and memes from [[r9k]], but also contributing novels ones. In fact, the term "blackpilled" was primarily used to say "it's all about looks and hence [[it's over]]".

Many members actively seek to "spread the blackpill", which means using true but often cherrypicked studies to evangelize others to "swallow" the blackpill narrative.  Some do this to lessen feelings of shame or guilt among incels,<ref>https://incels.co/threads/what-are-you-doing-to-spread-the-blackpill.53911/#post-995860,</ref> some want to change discourse in society,<ref>https://incels.co/threads/infiltrating-universities-to-spread-the-blackpill.67531/</ref> while others are vocal about trying to full-on "spark a revolution". However, serious political activist threads never were taken very seriously, particularly in 2018, and no IRL "activism" appears to ever be undertaken as a result of self-identified incel forums.

Some members go as far as using shaming tactics on those who do not espouse the blackpill narrative, sometimes through attacking a man's confidence in his masculinity (e.g. [[cuck]] or [[soyboy]]).  Seemingly, the main thing that distinguishes these members from traditional death cults is their lack of top-down philosophical teachings or zealous leaders.  We know there are no such leaders e.g. [[incels.co]] as the community admin, [[SergeantIncel]], instead advocates the [[whitepill]], which does not advocate suicide for incels in any manner, but rather advocates acceptance and positivity.

Blackpillers overlap with [[alt-right]]ers in some of their [[tradcon]] views, but most large blackpilled forums have continuously banned alt-righters,{{citation needed}} so these movements have never formally merged. After the banning of [[Braincels|/r/braincels]], a politically neutral forum, the only blackpill forums left were dominated by vocal traditional conservatives who began incorporating larger media narratives and Jordan Peterson language about monogamy/marriage into the blackpill, hence the current blackpill definition on the wiki.

Largely separate from these communities, people have begun to share and read scientific studies on dating and human sexual behavior on [https://old.reddit.com/r/BlackPillScience /r/BlackPillScience], which later lead to the compilation of the [[Scientific Blackpill]] article, a separate project than the rest of the wiki, created by incels.co janitor RageAgainstTheTDL and currently stewarded by [[:User:Bibipi|Bibipi]].
