Step 2: After a few months of pushing on that spot, the mouth will expand far enough to where one can slide the tongue on the roof of the mouth back into the throat (think of this like swalling one's own tongue). This is the whole point of expanding the mouth in the first place. As well as the hardest and most complicated part of the mewing process and probably 99+% of mewers never get this far because in order to actually keep the entire tongue on the mouth roof (not just that alcove). One absolutely must have their head and chin held up high in a dominant position, to vertically align the mouth and throat, allowing for the entire underside of the tongue to lay on the (now vertical instead of horizontal) roof of the mouth and push forward instead of just with the tip of the tongue.
