Coolness is dominance signaling by looking fashionable and dangerous, as well as behaving and sounding interesting, and impressive, all without trying hard. This signals high confidence in one's ability, to achieve status and success whilst doing the bare minimum. Basically saying,"Could try harder but don't need to because people already hail to the king, baby." Coolness is related to stoicism due to the downplaying of effort, and related to charisma/game as minimalism and style are associated with beauty.

<!--The raise of coolness could be explained by economic stagnation: In times of economic growth, men compete by doing useful things. In times of stagnation, they compete by looks, style and doing the least necessary.-->

Since quickly and effortlessly doing things that other people find hard is cool. A modern day "cool" lifestyle could also be evolutionarily novel, because in tribal/ traditional life no one is socially isolated enough to pull off secretly achieving mastery of a hobby by practicing in complete isolation, only to come back into society and effortlessly display one's masterful skill, to the complete awe of others, whom did not see the hours of practice, nor had any reason to believe the person was practicing anything, because out of sight, out of mind.

For example, a guy has no reputation at all for singing or dancing, has never tried to. So over summer break from school, the guy spends as many hours per day possible learning to sing and dance masterfully, then during the school dance, the man starts busting out immaculate moves left and right, to everyone's awe and surprise."Wow what talent!"

People with evolutionarily novel lifestyles and values are always more intelligent than average https://phys.org/news/2010-02-intelligent-people-unnatural-values-human.html

So if this is true guys that others consider to be cool are more intelligent, especially if also tall and good looking. Therefore a group of tall, good looking, cool guys, not only looksmog, coolmog, and heightmog but IQmog as well.
