Der Schattenmacher
Der Schattenmacher (eng.: "The Shadowmaker") is a German alt-right YouTuber who also made an video essay about Elliot Rodger.[1]
Life[edit | edit source]
Due to him being paranoid (reasonable when considering the potential risks he is exposed to as someone opposing the political mainstream), we don't know much of him:
After finishing primary school, he prematurely attended classes for the gifted. In school, he experienced occasions of getting bullied/ostrasized and bullying/mocking others. He studied something STEM-related, it's uncertain whether or not he graduated university.
Character[edit | edit source]
Particularly in the beginning of his internet career, his attitude seemed snooty, as seen in his pretentious articulations. But after time went by, he seemes more sincere. He seems to hate normies, and can't stand them. He thinks talking about controversial things with normies in real life will just destroy your standing and reputation in society, so you should instead ignore them or just talk about the day-to-day insignificant things with them.
Private life[edit | edit source]
Due to him being more-or-less chronically online, as seen in his activity on YouTube and participation in live-streams (even in normally important events like Valentine's Day, Christmas, New Year's Eve etc...), it can be assumed that he doesn't have a great social circle, at least not in the real world.
Theories[edit | edit source]
"Deterministic paralysis"[edit | edit source]
He believes Elliot Rodger and many incels are captured in a vicious circle, which he calls the "deterministic paralysis"[2]:
Elliot believes he can't do anything about his situation which results in him doing nothing about his situation. The consequence of that is the already-bad status quo deteriorating with the following internal interpretation of being exposed to the worst in life. This continues up until absolutely losing sanity.
