A study done on the effects of flowers on mating attractiveness and behavior, showed that 18–25-year-old women (N = 600) walking alone in a shopping mall, when approached by an attractive 20-year-old male-confederate soliciting them for their phone number. Agreed more favorably to the confederate's courtship solicitation when solicited in the area of the flower shop than compared to a cake shop, or a women's shoes shop. In Study 1 women who were exposed to flowers while they watched a video of a man perceived the man to be more attractive and sexier. They also reported being more inclined to accept a date from him. In Study 2 women who were exposed to flowers responded more favorably to an explicit solicitation from a male confederate in a subsequent interaction. These results suggest the typical unnattractive if ugly, romantic if [[Chad]] display of giving a woman flowers leads to sexual opportunities. The results also suggest men wearing flower scented perfume, would be seen as more sexually attractive.
