"Virginal and single men were more likely to be in sex-segregated occupations than women and to see this as a barrier".  Redditor's also mention lack of exposure to the opposite gender as the ninth most common cause of their inceldom<ref>https://www.researchgate.net/publication/326904341_Why_Men_Stay_Single_Evidence_from_Reddit</ref>.

This does not mean that decreasing sex segregation alone would stop rising inceldom as incel proponents of traditional social arrangements point out.
