A more intelligent turn that situation around toward said persons advantage. A high IQ is beneficial in all but 3 aspects of life. Making and maintaining close friends, being a loving and nurturing parent, and sexually attracting a mate. Those are the 3 areas were looks, feelings, and emotions triumph over IQ. From a reproductive success standpoint those 3 are the most important areas. From an individualist or hedonistic standpoint IQ is more important, since a high enough IQ guarantees a certain baseline measure of financial success, where friends, mates, and cute adorable children to take care of can be bought.
Since height and IQ are positively correlated but not looks, choosing the tallest guy for the chief job, was actually the rational decision more often than not.
