A downside of the karma system, as noted by many, is that it tends to result in group think by effectively censoring views divergent from the mainstream via downvoting. Redditors are conditioned to crave the upvotes, and can easiest achieve this by posting cats, "doggos", or talking in [[Numale|numale]] speech, parroting the latest mindless memes or by [[Virtue signaling|virtue signaling]]. The quality of larger subreddits is mixed to very bad. Some subreddits can be entertaining and useful though.

Reddit hosted some of the largest incel forums, most of which have been memoryholed for "bullying" and "harassing" of women. Equating ''"misogyny"'' with genital mutilation, stoning and wife-beating is of course ludicrous. Misogyny is the natural counterweight to the ''women-are-wonderful bias'' that is innate to our species, and slut-shaming a natural way of correcting women's natural inclination for [[whoring]]. Humans do not need autistic rules that limit their non-violent signals of behavioral correction.
