Considering our earliest land roaming ancestors (reptiles) had only a hindbrain in there skull and were reproducing just fine, until an asteroid hit, of course. Sex honestly shouldn't be as complicated for us as it is. | |||
For those that don't know the hindbrain controls your unconscious mind, regulation of heartbeat, regulation of breathing, hunger control, primitive motion, movement control and mating. And that's all they had. Take a random reptile now that has just a hindbrain like a snake or a gecko. All of its complex mating behaviors and feeding rituals are pure instinct, ultra instinct. It literally has no concept of being alive or anything, its like a machine. | |||
Compare this to any mammal, since all mammals have a limbic system (the part of your brain that controls your sub conscious mind) a pig has emotion, behaviour, motivation, long-term memory, and sense of smell. So that pig about to be killed at the slaughter house on the assembly line. It smells death in the air, and feels anxiety, terror and fear, it just doesn't have the self awareness (consciousness) to truly understand just how deep in the sh*t it really is. | |||
The only land reptile to avoid extinction was the crocodile, and crocodiles, along with dinosaurs you see at museums are terrifying and ugly. Based on these facts Gigachad wasn't a thing until we became mammals. Some non human mammals are objectively beautiful. Lions and tigers are considered extraordinarily beautiful, but only when their mouths are closed, when they bare their teeth they look fierce. This suggest beauty is selected for on a sub-conscious level because it feels good to be around, close to, and look at what is beautiful. Not because it maximizes reproductive success. Beauty implies a degree of freedom from the harsh rule of natural selection, and thus functions as a great costly signal to potential mates. | |||
So Gigachad is literally just a meme. Like he's real, he'l always exist, he may have a couple kids here and there but he's a statistical anomaly akin to Neo from the Matrix Movies.
