An interesting addition is that nice men have substantially lower economic success. In Judge et al. (2012), men who are one standard deviation nicer, had ''an 18.3% lower income''. For women it's 5.47% lower, but they are more agreeable and tend to occupy positions of lower status to begin with.
It pays off being disagreeable, in life as a whole, and doubly so with women because women also prefer men with high income.
