A study by Poortman and Liebroer found that roughly only 4% of singles prefer being single over having a relationship<ref>https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ssresearch.2010.03.012</ref>.  If we are to subtract [[volcel]]s from this number, we arrive at roughly 24% of American being incel.  As different studies show slightly different number, we conclude the % American young men being incel to be somewhere between 20-30%.
