Elliot Rodger (July 24, 1991 – May 23, 2014) was an raging Asian narcissist who wrote the boring and horrible manifesto My Twisted World. Elliot's inceldom, or lack of female attention as a shy boy, drove him to do the 2014 Isla Vista shootings, where he killed 7 people. Elliot was a member of PUAhate and his shooting resulted in PUAhate's closing. Elliot Rodger's huge manifesto never once mentioned the word incel, so he probably just was mostly a frustrated involuntary celibate than someone who chose to use the shortened word a lot.  Out of thousands of posts across many websites he did use the word incel once or twice to self-identify in PUAhate forums, despite PUAhate not being a self-identifying incel board.  Therefore, "incel culture", as we know it now wasn't really a big thing back then, and Elliot Rodger spent his social time in the anti-pick-up artist culture and the foreveralone subreddit.

Initial Internet Reaction
As news of the story broke, one of the first online reactions was from the mental health community Social Anxiety Support which spontaneously erupted in multiple threads of sympathy for Elliot Rodger.  The femoid users of Social Anxiety Support then started flaming the threads in disgust at the reaction.
