The most notable femcel in popular culture is probably the younger version of Rogue, a fictional character from the comic series X-men. Her inceldom is caused by the fact that physical touch produces an involuntary deadly high-voltage jolt, thus preventing relationships with others. She nonetheless tries, often hoping nothing will happen, but as soon as she kisses someone or tries to hold hands with them, the other party ends up in hospital.
