Antifa is undoubetbly a political movement in Europe, and has a long history dating back to Mussolini.  An oppositional anti-fascist movement surfaced against Mussolini in the mid 1920s, mostly anarchists, socialists and syndicalists (co-ops, worker strikes).  This continued into Nazi Germany and after the fall of the Berlin Wall.  Later in Germany, antifa took on a more subculture and punk aesthetic, which was seen later around the globe.
