Since women choose men based on their [[dominance hierarchy|social status]], status is the primary pathway for men to reproduce. Hence, by a simple Darwinian argument, men should feel shitty when they cannot attain status and hence cannot get access to any woman. From a Darwinian perspective this is the worst place to be in, as it does not allow to propagate one's genes. For this reason, one would expect negative emotions to have evolved that disincentivize men from accepting their inceldom. The explanation is simple: Men with a mutation to embrace their inceldom were outreproduced by those who didn't, in fact they did not reproduce at all.
