Jordan Peterson has been very critical of incels who have committed violence, but he gave an affirmative nod to incels on the Joe Rogan podcast.  On the podcast, he echoed a talking point earlier raised by various public intellectuals such as left-wing cultural critic [[Angela Nagle]], white nationalist [[Roger Devlin]], and American bishop Erastus Otis Haven<ref>https://books.google.com/books?id=-kdWAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA171&dq=%22Involuntary+celibacy,+or+celibacy+assumed+as+a+badge+of+a+class,+binding+its+members+against+matrimony,+has+proved+productive+of+great+evils.+This+is+a+great+error+of+that+sect+calling+itself+the+Roman+Catholic+Church.+History+abundantly+proves+...%22&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiIiI2Az-TkAhXBUt8KHUJ3CqwQ6AEwAXoECAEQAg#v=onepage&q=%22Involuntary%20celibacy%2C%20or%20celibacy%20assumed%20as%20a%20badge%20of%20a%20class%2C%20binding%20its%20members%20against%20matrimony%2C%20has%20proved%20productive%20of%20great%20evils.%20This%20is%20a%20great%20error%20of%20that%20sect%20calling%20itself%20the%20Roman%20Catholic%20Church.%20History%20abundantly%20proves%20...%22&f=false</ref>, namely that "the breakdown of [[monogamy]] has strong correlation with inceldom".

Peterson also claimed that the overemphasis on women is destroying male cultural drive, and that humans need touch and a partner. Some of his critics have accused Peterson of being an incel (which is of course impossible because he has two kids).
