When Wizardchan went offline in 2014,<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20141113154558/https://wizardchan.org/</ref> its moderators and its admin Glaive created Wizchan, and some of its users created other websites with the same imageboard style as Wizardchan, such as MagicChan<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20190804172403/https://www.magicchan.org/</ref> WarlockChan,<ref>http://warlockchan.org/</ref> or MerlinChan,<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20150902053041/http://www.merlinchan.com/</ref> to replace Wizardchan. The /wizchan/,<ref>https://8chan.co/wizchan/ or https://web.archive.org/web/20150125080950/https://8ch.net/wizchan/index.html</ref> /wizard/,<ref>https://8chan.co/wizard/ or https://web.archive.org/web/20150308040329/https://8ch.net/wizard/</ref> /wiz/,<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20171201123748/https://8ch.net/wiz/index.html</ref> boards on 8chan were also created (or may have already existed before Wizardchan went down). To this day, only Wizchan remains. It is possible Wizardchan closed due to unwanted attention brought by GamerGate.  

==Hostility to incels==

Though still part of the [[incelosphere]], the forum is pretty hostile to incels who express that involuntariness. The forum was mainly defined by it's role in various e-drama like Gamergate, and therefore is more filled with culture-warriors and [[astroturfing|astroturfers]] rather than actual incels. This site owner is also hostile to incels, filtering all mention of the word [[incel]] to [[crab]].
