GamerGate arbitration case

On the English Wikipedia, GamerGate arbitration case laid the foundation for applying discretionary sanctions to "(a) GamerGate, (b) any gender-related dispute or controversy, (c) people associated with (a) or (b), all broadly construed."[1]
In other words, it created a precedent for any admin to ban anyone at any time for any reason (i. e. when they feel like it) on any page even tangentially related to gender.
Gamergate arguably made Wikipedia more authoritarian.
