The "Dishwashing Theory" was created in 2021 in the Korean community "DC Inside" to describe the act of a man with no or very little dating experience marrying a woman who enjoyed a promiscuous sex life in her youth, and voluntarily cleaning up the dirty dishes left over from someone else's meal. This theory claims that it is an irrational choice compared to washing dishes.
