When a man takes off his clothes in public or is a leader of a group, he is demonstrating power and dominance. The male body is a reflection of masculinity and therefore should be displayed in public. There is a difference between a woman's private body and a man's public. Therefore, when a man is naked, he has the potential to show strength and dominance. When a woman is naked, she is demonstrating a lack of confidence and is generally seen as weak and pathetic.
